We have found a great little maintenance tool for cleaning your encoder strips. Called SWIPES, it's sold as an eyeglass cleaner but works fantastic as an encoder strip cleaner.
 Spray some Windex on both little pads and wipe it across the encoder strip. Remember to always clean towards the spring, never away from it. You want to avoid possibly stretching out the spring.
It works great. After you're done wiping just rinse the pads under hot water and you can reuse it over and over again. |
