By Jay Busselle

Shirt Lab Austin 2024 was a powerhouse event, featuring experts who shared transformative insights into automating various aspects of business operations for apparel decorators. This is my summary of the speakers:

1. Justin McKibben - "Automating Lead Generation with VA's"

Justin emphasized the importance of targeted lead generation and highlighted automation as the key to streamlining the process. Justin asked the apparel decorators in the audience, “How would you duplicate yourself?” The answer is working with Virtual Assistants or VA’s. Justin made it obvious that we all need a relentless focus on our target audiences. “Understanding your audience is the key to creating effective scripts, workflows and building custom processes.” Justin shared actionable strategies and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in reaching potential customers.

2. Davis Slagle - "Automating Sales Strategies"

Davis showcased the power of sales automation in revolutionizing customer interactions and boosting conversion rates. After sharing a personal situation Davis asked the audience “Imagine you had to create a business that would run without you - could you do it?” He learned how to leverage automation to make their sales process more agile and competitive. Through this process, Davis learned that the product was the online store and the convenience it delivered - not the products in the store that they would decorate with DTF transfers and screen printing.
