Equipment Zone has created the first ever DTG Academy. This class is the first of its kind. It’s a complete Direct-to-Garment Printing Business Course. The 2-day class will be held at Equipment Zone’s all new training center in Phoenix, Arizona September 21st and 22nd and Franklin Lakes, NJ on October 5th and 6th.
The DTG Academy was designed to be both a classroom and hands-on learning experience. The core purpose of the DTG Academy is to create an atmosphere where you can learn the following:
The DTG Academy will be hosted by industry legend, Terry Combs. Other popular industry trainers and presenters involved are Jay Busselle, Dane Clement and Matt Rhome. Equipment Zone will also have its technical staff available. The DTG printers for this event have been provided by Epson, however the information and experiences will be applicable to any DTG printer.
The DTG Academy is only $395 for the first attendee and $195 for each additional attendee from the same company. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to spend two information filled days with recognized industry experts and get hands on training with these state-of-the-art printers.

Terry Combs is a 35+ year veteran of the garment printing industry and has managed production shops large and small across the United States. He has written hundreds of management and technical articles for garment printing publications and spoken at industry events worldwide. He is currently in sales and training with Equipment Zone, Franklin Lakes, N.J., working from Equipment Zone’s Tempe, Ariz. office. And is co-host of the industry podcast, 2 Regular Guys. His recent books, Screen Printing: A Practical Guide, and Direct-to-Garment: A Practical Guide, are available on Amazon.
Matthew Rhome is the founder of the Direct to Garment industry and the inventor of the worlds first commercially available Direct to Garment Printer. He was awarded US Patent 6,095,628 on DTG printer technology in August 2000. Matthew was a member of the development team that produced the first DTG printer offering from Brother International and currently works for Epson America in DTG Business Development. Matthew is a frequent speaker at industry tradeshows
Dane Clement is President of Great Dane Graphics, a GroupeStahl company, specializing in the creation of production ready stock art for the apparel decorating industry. His is also the Vice-President of Art and Creative Process for GroupeSTAHL. Clement has been speaking and writing for the decorated apparel industry since 1987. He is considered an expert on computer graphics and color separations for textile screen printing, dye sublimation, digital direct-to-garment and heat-applied graphics. He is the author of T-Shirt Artwork Simplified, a how-to book on creating artwork for decorating apparel.
Jay Busselle began his screen printing and graphics career reportedly sometime in the 80's in Mr. Perry's graphics class at East High School. Jay started printing “unofficial replica” T-shirts of his favorite surfing, skiing and skateboarding companies, as well as a few bands which will remain nameless. It didn't take long before he was working for a screen printer, and soon thereafter his family-owned promotional advertising agency. It's been over 25 years and Jay is still hanging out with promo peeps and apparel geeks, pretending to grow up! Jay is the founder of a weekly Twitter chat called #promochat and has been ranked as high as #13 on the Stitches Power 75 list. He is the recipient of two REGGIE Awards for industry excellence. Jay is a highly rated industry presenter and accomplished trainer.
